Valencienne in Merry Widow
February 10th and 12th
Caroline will be returning to Toledo Opera to make her role debut for Valencienne in Merry Widow. She is thrilled to return to the place that has become very important to her, having done their resident artist program in 2019/20 which was cut short by the pandemic.
Caroline appeared in King Arthur as part of Bard Summerscape this past summer, and it will be available to stream Monday, October 25 – Monday, November 1 as part of Word Opera Day. Check it out!
Caroline is the director and producer, through The Pleiades Project, of a series of short films set to the music of German romantic composers Clara Schumann, Louise Reichardt and Fanny Mendelssohn. These were all commissioned by INseries.
They are all available to stream on INVISION.
Listen to Caroline and Co-Founder of The Pleiades Project, Elizabeth Van Os, discuss what it takes to run an opera film non profit and commit to telling women's stories past and present.

In February 2020, soprano Caroline Miller collaborated with aerialist and artist Erin Garber-Pearson to interweave classical music, vocal performance, and the aerial arts. They both wanted to tell a story about loss, grief and the redemptive power of love. Aber combines “Ihr habt nun Traurigkeit” from Ein deutsches Requiem by Brahms, newly arranged for soprano and guitar by Nathan Silar with aerial silks and film. In the process of creating Aber, Caroline lost her grandmother. This piece and this partnership was there to catch her.
For a few hours on election night, stop refreshing fivethirtyeight.com, forget about the exit polls, and tune out your anxiety with some distracting levity as we premiere our C-SPAN-inspired take on Melissa Dunphy's Gonzales Cantata in The BOX at 5:00. Then trickle in to the Savada-Stevenson lounge starting at 5:30 to raise a glass or two or eighteen with your classy, pearl-decked hostess and bartender "Dianne Feinstein" and a bevy of other senators. Real news: come in your boldest patriotic garb to win prizes for "Best Power Tie," "Best Lapel Pin(s)," "Most Creative Stars and Stripes," "Most Authentic Presidential Impersonation," "Most Patriotic Pet," and more! Check back here often for tremendous cocktail recipes and more incredible details about this party which will be - believe me - huge.
About the Gonzales Cantata -
Just in time for the election, a docu-opera of Melissa Dunphy’s brilliant setting of the transcripts from Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’s 2005 congressional hearings in the style of a Handelian oratorio is art as satire – at turns funny, charming, moving, and convicting.
